There are 6 weather stations, one for each Elementary School in Gloucester, MA, and O’Maley Middle School.  5 of these are Davis Vantage Pro stations and the one at the Middle School is a newer Davis Vantage Pro 2.

These stations have been running for many years with the tireless efforts from John Madama and Dave Brown.  I, Dan Chase was a student teacher at East Gloucester Elementary and put together the online component of the weather stations in my spare time using wview, an open source software package (free!) running on Debian Linux, Squeeze (free!), and old Dell GX270 computers (also free!). Thank you Grant and Tylor for letting me play around with everything and being so accommodating and helpful about getting everything up and running.

Yes, I will be looking for a job soon either as an Elementary School Teacher, which is the license I am student teaching for, or some sort of school computer support.  Wink wink, nudge nudge.
